Blackboard Collaborate UE

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra Experience (UE) is a plug-in tool that provides access for OWL users to an online learning environment. These virtual classrooms come equipped with live audio and video sharing, file sharing (including Powerpoint presentations), virtual whiteboards, and application sharing across multiple users. Unlike the Java application Blackboard Collaborate CV, the UE version works right from your internet browser.

This help page will cover the OWL side of the integration along with basic functionality and troubleshooting. Blackboard releases monthly updates for Collaborate; if you cannot find the answer you are looking for here, we recommend visiting Blackboard's Help Page for Collaborate - external link: https://en-us.help.blackboard.com/ - for more recent documentation and troubleshooting.

Introduction

What is Collaborate UE?

Blackboard Collaborate UE provides instructors with the ability to create a virtual classroom and meeting rooms. The interactive whiteboard allows for users to collaborate as if they were in the same room, in conjunction with real-time participation using a webcam and a microphone to provide a personal touch to what could otherwise be a detached experience.

Integration with OWL now provides an even easier experience for instructors teaching online and distance studies courses to provide a personal learning experience for their students, enriching the entire course overall. Ultra Experience integrates Blackboard Collaborate directly in your browser, which skips unnecessary setup of the java application and lets instructors and students start Collaborating right away.

For best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome.
