The Apereo Teaching & Learning Awards (ATLAS) is awarded annually to up to six winners who "demonstrate innovative teaching and learning using" Apereo technologies, such as Sakai, which powers OWL. If you, or someone you know, offers an innovative course or educational experience through OWL, consider applying.
More information is available on the eLearning Technology Team site. The deadline for application submissions is February 26, 2018.
OWL was updated on December 22nd. The update included fixes and improvements to Gradebook, Assignments, Forums, Syllabus, and other parts of OWL. For information about what has changed, check out the OWL Release Notes for details.

Your official course enrolments will be listed (with links to the course site, if available).
If you've changed courses or sections recently, you'll see the change in OWL within 24 hours.
Course sites can be set up for the Winter terms. Start by going to Worksite Setup and then "New". If you do not see a section that you are teaching, please confirm with your department that you are the "approved instructor for the correct term".
In preparation for the new academic year, student access to old course content pre-dating Spring/Summer 2017 was removed on August 9th. All course content is still accessible to instructors and maintainers.
Unfortunately, this change in student access has had some unintended consequences for some OWL users. We apologize for any inconvenience this is creating for students, faculty, and other members of our campus community.
If you are a student and require access to old OWL course content pre-dating Spring/Summer 2017, please contact the WTS Helpdesk. For assistance locating known course reading material formerly accessed via OWL, e.g. journal articles or book chapters, please contact Western Libraries at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that, going forward, this automated process of removing student access to old course content will continue shortly after final grades have been submitted following course completion.
