Did you know that OWL has a Calendar? Each OWL course site can have its own Calendar to store events, meetings, and due dates. This isn't new. But based on feedback gathered in our 2019 OWL surveys, students want to know when things are due. Therefore, the Calendar is now selected by default when instructors set up their OWL course site.
You have your own Calendar in OWL too that can aggregate events from your OWL sites into one convenient spot. Once logged into OWL, go to Home, then to Calendar, and then to "Merge Internal Calendars" to manage which sites' events will appear in your Calendar. Using the "Publish" tab, you can also subscribe to your OWL Calendar to view your events from outside of OWL using an external calendar application, such as Outlook.
Check your "Official Course Enrolments" page:
Your official course enrolments will be listed (with links to the course site, if available).
If you've changed courses or sections recently, you'll see the change in OWL within 24 hours.
As previously communicated, OWL course sites for Fall 2017, Winter 2018, and Summer 2018 courses were unpublished on Tuesday, July 30, 2019. Once unpublished, students are no longer able to access content (including assignments and resources) in these OWL sites. Instructors and site maintainers will still have access to the course sites.
OWL Help is the official site of documentation for OWL:
Customized for Western, OWL Help provides getting-started guides, step-by-step instructions about each of OWL's tools, and other OWL-specific information.
OWL Help is available from three places on most pages in OWL:
OWL Help replaces the former OWL Documentation site, which was decommissioned on August 17th, 2018.
Course sites can be set up for the Fall and Winter terms. Start by going to Worksite Setup and then "New". If you do not see a section that you are teaching, please confirm with your department that you are the "approved instructor for the correct term".
