    OWL Status Update:

    Between 10pm EDT on Thursday, November 2nd and approximately 8:30am EDT on Friday November 3rd, there is a possibility that some users who were using OWL during that time may not have had all of the changes they made captured correctly, resulting in those changes not being in OWL now. We have identified the individuals who may have been affected by this and contacted them directly via email. If you did not hear from us directly about this, it does not impact you. Thank you.

    We have restored the group memberships affected by the issues on Nov. 3rd and we have contacted the site maintainers of the affected course sites.

    We recommend that you review your groups and group memberships. Please contact WTS if you have any questions.

    Due to the issues we experienced on November 3rd, some group memberships were affected. We are working to restore those group memberships. We ask that you please refrain from making changes to groups at this time. More information will be released as it becomes available.

    On November 3rd 2017 between 4:00am and 3:00pm certain OWL sites were unavailable to users. A routine operation to update roster data failed due to a technical error. The error has since been resolved. Users should now be able to access all of their sites. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your patience in the matter.

    Note: If you still cannot see your course site you may have to clear your web browser's cache.

    Looking for your course in OWL?

    Check your "Official Course Enrolments" page:

    1. Log into OWL
    2. Go to "Membership" on the left
    3. Go to "My Official Course Enrolments"

    Your official course enrolments will be listed (with links to the course site, if available).

    If you've changed courses or sections recently, you'll see the change in OWL within 24 hours.

    Instructors and Site Maintainers:

    Course sites can be set up for the Fall and Winter terms. Start by going to Worksite Setup and then "New". If you do not see a section that you are teaching, please confirm with your department that you are the "approved instructor for the correct term".

    Important Notice Regarding Access to Old Course Content

    In preparation for the new academic year, student access to old course content pre-dating Spring/Summer 2017 was removed on August 9th. All course content is still accessible to instructors and maintainers.

    Unfortunately, this change in student access has had some unintended consequences for some OWL users. We apologize for any inconvenience this is creating for students, faculty, and other members of our campus community.

    If you are a student and require access to old OWL course content pre-dating Spring/Summer 2017, please contact the WTS Helpdesk. For assistance locating known course reading material formerly accessed via OWL, e.g. journal articles or book chapters, please contact Western Libraries at wlfeedback@uwo.ca.

    Please note that, going forward, this automated process of removing student access to old course content will continue shortly after final grades have been submitted following course completion.
